Book Requests and Delivery
- Fuqua MBA students, Fuqua Faculty and Fuqua Phd students can request the delivery of books from other Duke Libraries to the Ford Library circulation desk using the Request Link in the online catalog.
- Fuqua Faculty can also request the delivery of books from other Duke Libraries to their faculty offices by
sending email to our Collection Services Librarian
- The Ford Library will also deliver requested books by library courier from our circulating collection to the "home library" of a Duke University student, faculty, or staff requestor.
- Electronic or campus mail delivery of articles held only in
print journals at Ford Library is available to Duke
faculty & Fuqua
faculty only.
How to request a book from the online catalog
- Login to your Library Account in the online catalog.
- Search and locate your book in the catalog.
- When you are viewing the Full Catalog - List of Records, click the (Name)-Library( #/ #) link in the Location/Call No. column at the right of the page. For example:
- Now you'll see the Full Catalog-Holdings screen. Click the word "Request" as shown beside the copy of the book you want. Tip: Choose a book that is not checked out or on hold to get it faster.
- Now you'll see the Request Item screen. Change the pick-up library here (Fuqua users choose Ford Library) or the Date of Interest and click Go to enter your request.
You'll be notified by eMail when your book is ready for pick-up.
If you want to check on the status of your request, you can login to your Library account,
or send eMail to our Collection Services Librarian .
