Recall A Book

If the item has been checked out for at least two weeks, it can automatically be recalled for you.

  1. Login now to your account in the Library Catalog. (about My Account)
  2. You'll be taken to a page titled: Library Card - YourLastName, YourFirstName.
  3. Click on either Basic Search or Advanced Search in the banner at the top of the page and look up the book you want to recall.
  4. On the results page, click on a library name + call number beside the item in the Shelf Location: Call No.: column.
  5. On the Holdings Screen, click on Request in the rightmost column under GetIt@Duke.
  6. On the Hold Request Form page, you can change the Pick Up or Delivery location, and/or the Last Needed date.
  7. Click the Submit button to place your request. You'll be notified by email when the item has been delivered to Ford Library. NB. Items not picked up after 10 days will be returned to circulation.

If you have problems with recalling books online, you can call 919-660-7875 during library hours, or send our Collection Services Librarian an email.
