Circulation Clerk

Now hiring for Spring 2024, Summer 2024, Fall 2024.

Description of Duties:

• Circulating library materials both online and manually
• Answering patrons' directional and policy (not reference) questions
• Sorting and re-shelving returned materials
• Assisting the Collection Services Librarian and other library staff as needed

Job Requirements:

• Punctuality and dependability are required!
• Ability to perform detailed tasks with and without supervision.
• A calm and even temperament is indispensable; good "people skills"
• Ability to perform repetitive, but essential tasks

Preferred Skills:

• Previous work experience in libraries, especially circulation
• Familiarity with Library of Congress classification system
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite, web search engines, and library online catalogs

Starting Salary: $17.25/hr (work-study not required)

Technical Services Assistant

Description of Duties:

• Recording the receipt of new books, journals, and other materials in our Integrated Library System
• Physical processing of library materials
• Retrieving items from the collection and preparing them for remote storage
• Assisting the Acquisitions/Serials Librarian and other library staff, as needed

Job Requirements:

• Attention to detail and dependability are required!
• Ability to perform detailed tasks with and without supervision
• A calm and even temperament is indispensable; good "people skills"
• Ability to perform repetitive, but essential tasks

Preferred Skills:

• Previous work experience in libraries, especially technical services
• Previous work experience in physical processing of library materials
• Familiarity with Library of Congress classification system
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite, especially Excel

Starting Salary: $16.50/hr (work-study not required)
