Renew Books

That are currently checked out to you...

  1. To login - enter your Duke net ID and password if prompted.
  2. Click Loans from the menu at the left.
  3. To renew items individually: click the Renew link to the right of each item.
  4. To renew more than 1 item: use the Renew All link above the list of loans or tick the checkboxes for the titles you want to renew, then use the Renew Selected link.*

*Check the message(s) to see if all selected items have renewed, as there may be some restrictions that could prevent renewal. Tip: You can also login and see your account by clicking the avatar at the top right of the Library Search page.


Request Books

When the book you want is in any Duke Library...

  1. Search the library catalog to locate the book.
  2. Click the “Sign in” link in the lower right of the screen to sign into the catalog and request an item.
  3. Enter your Duke NetID and password if prompted.
  4. Click the book title in the search results and scroll down to the Requests section and click the blue Request button.
  5. Change the pick-up library in the dialog (Fuqua users choose Ford Library) then click the Place Request button to enter your request.

Interlibrary Loan

Use when a book or article is not available at a Duke Library

  1. Search the library catalog first to find out if the book, or the journal containing your article is owned by Duke.
  2. If the book is owned by a Duke Library, follow the steps in the Request Books section on this page.
  3. If the book or journal is not owned by Duke, click the button below to login and request the book or article.
  4. NOTE: If you are a Fuqua student, faculty, or staff member, be sure to choose Ford Library as your home library.
